Return & Refund Policy

Our "Trail-Tested" Guarantee

At Nantahala Gear Xchange, we deal in high-quality, pre-loved gear. We want you to love your find, but we also have a responsibility to our local community of consignors. To balance this, we offer different policies for our local shop and our online store.

In-Store Purchases

  • All Sales Final: Because items are available for full physical inspection and testing in our Bryson City shop, all in-person sales are final.

Online Purchases

We understand that buying gear sight-unseen can be tricky. For items shipped to your door, we offer a 14-day return window.

  • Return Window: You must initiate your return and have it postmarked within 14 business days from the date the carrier marks the item as "Delivered."

  • Condition: Items must be returned in the exact condition they were received, including all original tags, manufacturer packaging, or NGX specialized labeling.

  • Return Shipping: The buyer is responsible for the cost of shipping the item back to our shop in North Carolina. We recommend using a carrier with tracking, as we cannot be responsible for lost return shipments.

  • No Restocking Fees: We do not charge a restocking fee for returns that meet our condition guidelines.

How to Start a Return

  1. Email us at nantahalagearxchange@gmail.com with your Order Number and the reason for the return.

  2. Once confirmed, ship the item to:

Refund Process & Inspections

Once your return arrives, our gear experts will inspect it to ensure it matches the condition it was in when it left our shop.

  • Full Refunds: Granted for items returned in original, unaltered condition.

  • Partial Refunds: If an item is returned with missing parts, damage not previously present, or removed packaging, a partial refund may be issued at the store's professional discretion.

  • Processing Time: Refunds are processed within 3–5 business days of receipt. Funds will be returned to your original payment method.
