Gauley Fest 

This year's theme is Bridal, and along with epic whitewater rafting and kayaking, there will be a costume contest and live music. Donations will support River Conservation.


Location: Nicholas County Veterans Memorial Park, Summersville, WV

September 27th & 28th at 8am 

Nanty Fest 

This is to celebrate the final Nantahala Upper and Cascades release of the year. There will be live music as, well as local artisans and crafts.

Flow Release:
9/27 300 CFS 10 am -5 pm

9/28 250 CFS 3 pm -5 pm

September 27th & 28th at 8am 

The 50th Annual Outdoorsman Triathlon 

It’s a 1-mile swim, a 4-mile run, and an 8-mile canoe paddle. People wanting to compete solo will do so on Saturday, and those who want to be part of a team will compete on Sunday. This is also the oldest continuous triathlon in the US. 


Location: Little Tennessee River 

September 27th at 8:30am 

Mountain Heritage Days 5k walk/run 

Enjoy a family/friendly walk or run before heading over to the 50th annual Heritage Festival! 

Location: Cullowhee, NC (WCU campus) 

October 11th at 9am 

Payson’s Run 10k 

Challenging trail course, with a 2 hour time limit. 


Location: Nantahala Outdoor Center, Bryson City, NC 

October 18th 5pm 

Spooky 5k 

Hosted by Swain County DSS. Proceeds help benefit the elderly and foster care children of Swain County.

October 24, 11am - October 26, 8pm 

Guest Appreciation Festival (GAF) 

Celebrating the end of the adventure season together with live music, artisan market, and of course the used gear market!

November 7th, 8th, and 9th, from 9am - 6pm 

Women’s Pedal Fest 

Celebration of women in mountain biking with bike clinics, local rides, and, of course, food and music.

November 23rd at 12pm

Cherokee 5k Turkey Strut 

You have the option of either running in person on the 23rd or completing the run any time on your own between November 16th and 24th. ALL of the proceeds go to Love People Well charity.
